We are an organization established on 15th of August 1984 by a group of Japanese language students in Kolkata ( Calcutta ).

Objectives

-To promote Japanese language and culture

-To promote relation between Indian and Japanese culture, literature and social norms

-To promote harmony and friendship between India and Japan

Cinemanippon (Japanese Film Festival)

For understanding the Japanese language and culture we are organizing our Cinemanippon (Japanese Film Festival) for 11th year in association with the Consulate General of Japan, Kolkata. The people of Kolkata enrich their knowledge from the films of eminent director Kurosawa, Ozu and others.


Gakusei Kaigi (India Japan Student Conference)

Actually to understand each other we are organizing Gakusei Kaigi (India Japan Student Conference) since 1997. The students of various universities of both the countries participate in this conference. In the conference, the students exchange their views by table discussion, seminar, excursion and cultural exchange. Every third year this conference takes place in Japan.

Happyokai (Annual Cultural Function)

For exchanging the culture of both two countries, members of our organization participate in our Happyokai (Annual Cultural Function) in the beginning of the year in association with the Consulate General of Japan, Kolkata. Sometimes, we invite the institutes of other languages like Russian, German, French, Spanish and others for performing their culture. In this year this function will take place on 5th March 2005. Like every year, Russian, German, French, Spanish language institutes will also participate like an extra bonanza with the Indian and Japanese, which may give the program more color and gorgeousness.

Nihongo Quiz (Japanese Language Quiz Contest)

Since 1998 we are organizing this quiz contest in Kolkata with the help of the Consulate General of Japan, Kolkata. All the institutes of Japanese language of the eastern region of our country participate in this contest. The students of Japanese language wait for this very exciting and enjoyable contest through out the year.



‘Sakura’ (Bi-Monthly Magazine)

Our dream came true through ‘Sakura’ the new bi-monthly magazine which is another addition in our activities in the view of enhancement and exchange of views of members who are not in direct contact of our organization. ‘Sakura’ the magazine contains poems, stories, essays, crosswords and also our organizational news.




Fresher Welcome

New comers or fresher admitted to the different institutes of Japanese Language are welcomed by a great, auspicious, colorful ‘Fresher Welcome’ ceremony only by our organization to create the interest of new students about the language and encourage them to be involved with this organization for the betterment of their world of Japanese language.

Bijoya celebration

‘Bijoya Dashami’ the festival that is done on the purpose of immersion of one of the main goddess “Durga”, especially in West Bengal brings another festive mood, which brings all the members under our organization closer through “Bijoya Sammelani” celebration. On this issue all the members wish their hope to the others to greet their future achievement. In ‘Bijoya Dasahami’ celebration we organize another gorgeous program every year.

Social Works

Also we engage with many social works like peace march which is organized by Buddha Temple, Dhakuria, Kolkata, World Environment Day celebration, voluntary service, help to natural disasters affected people

Picnic

Throughout the year we are waiting for our Picnic. Actually we are so busy with our daily activities. Always we are feeling very tension. But after the picnic we get lots of energy. Members and their family participate in the picnic
